How can I learn more information about the Dance Theatre of Fayetteville?

We are so excited that you want to learn more about the Dance Theatre of Fayetteville. You have a few different options to contact us. When will the Auditions for Nutcracker take place and how do I learn more?

We love traditions, as one of our very own is the annual audition for Nutcracker. This year the auditions will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025. We will be sending out information via email to all of our members and subscribers. You will also be able to pick up flyers with this information at local studios and partners, around town. Remember to sign up to get notifications about registration options and other important information.

Is the Dance Theatre of Fayetteville open to all dancers or certain studios?

For 50 years, the Dance Theatre of Fayetteville and its partners have provided opportunities to dancers and entertainment to the community, through performance of the annual Nutcracker, Swan Lake, events at the Dickens Festival, and other performances to include specials at the Botanical Gardens. These performances are open to the community and performed by dancers that belong to multiple studios from around local Fayetteville area. All dancers are welcome to audition for our events, register as members, and participate in our performances. We welcome you to contact us if you are interested or have more questions.

Will Nutcracker auditions be available to all dancers, even if they aren't on pointe?

We are excited about all the talent and hard work that our local dancers put into their art. For that reason, we honor each dancer, where he/she is a provide them with the opportunity to display their talents at out annual events. This means that all dancers can audition for Nutcracker, even if they aren't on pointe.

Will there be a make up audition for the annual Nutcracker performance?

We understand that sometimes there is a conflict of schedules, but dancers still want to be a part of the Dance Theatre of Fayetteville's annual Nutcracker performance. For this reason, after the dancer has registered for the audition, through our online registration and paid the audition fee, the dancer will be added to the audition list and if unable to make it to the audition, make up audition notifications and contact will be made to accommodate inability to be present for audition.

Please make sure to register to receive audition notifications, so that you do not miss the online audition registration opportunity.

How can local dance studios get more information and participate in the annual Nutcracker performance?

One of the best parts of The Dance Theatre of Fayetteville is our local dance studio participants. You are the heart of our organization, as our dancers are birthed and guided within your studio's walls. This is why we are excited when you inquire on how to become apart of our annual Nutcracker performance.
